IVHM
From a systems engineering perspective, ISHM can be thought of as another subsystem that fulfills sustainability goals of the vehicle.  However, it can differ from other subsystems in that it can be set of hardware and software components that may reside within other subsystems. Infact ,ISHM is a system function that has elements that reside on-board the vehicle, on the ground, and in processes that are distributed across the globe.

ISHM can be summarised as is systematic  approach of  transforming  system data into information to support operational decisions that results Enhanced operational awareness , Improved readiness and availability , Reduced inspections and troubleshooting, Reduced redundancies, Product life extension, Reduced spares burden, Reduced environmental impact hence creating real business benefits.

A system safety analysis (SSA) that takes into consideration all failure modes and effects, functional hazard analysis, etc., will typically begin the ISHM development process. Among the options for failure mitigation are design changes that eliminate non-critical components, beef up structural components, or take into consideration special monitoring systems.

Our approach

We at EngrossIt focus on functions to be accomplished by an ISHM system  like data acquisition from multiple sensors, data manipulation (preconditioning), component state detection, component health assessment, prognostics to estimate the remaining useful life of the component,  verification activity to ensure that all repairs/mitigation activities have been performed correctly, and that the system has been returned to full operational status and the probability of future catastrophic failures is below the threshold level.
